Stay Grounded Grant (SGG)

The sustainAbility PhD initiative strives to initiate change and promotes sustainability actions at the university level. With Stay Grounded Grant (SGG) pilot project, we aim to lower the pressure on planetary boundaries (in particular CO2 emission) that are often associated with student exchange programs (i.e., number of flights).  Therefore, we want to encourage exchange students to take the train (or another transportation service) to their destination instead of flying.

For the winter semester 2020/21 all exchange students at University of Tübingen can apply for the SGG. The grants will be given to at least two students (up to 160 Euro each) if they choose the train, bus, etc. over the plane.

Conditions:

If you study abroad in the next fall semester AND you decide to stay grounded (i.e., travel by bus, train, ferry, etc.) you can receive an additional travel grant of up to 160 Euro.
